Crossover Version 2 While we had the box out for measurement, I threw in the BC25SC-04 that PE ran on closeout. Having a more sensitive tweeter makes the crossover design a bit more straight forward and allows a bit more flexibility in application. I'm sure it can be voiced brighter if need be. On the woofer section, I suggest a 20ga coil - instead of the iron core we used. It should raise the low end impedance a bit. The crossover points are about 620 Hz and 3500 Hz. You'll note I have two resistor locations for padding the mids (should you find the need to do so.) My displayed model has no midrange padding at all. If you want to lower the entire midrange band, Use 0.3-1.5 ohm at position MR1. If you just want to pad down the top end, then the same values should be applied at MR2. (I would choose one or the other, NOT both). If you like your HT loud then I would suggest pairs of padding resistors for increased power handling and reduced heat (e.g. two 1 ohm in parallel = 0.5 ohm) For the tweeter I used 12 ohms in my model. A value between 10-14 will probably suit most of you. I would suggest buying a few extra small value resistors (0.33, 0.5, 1, 1.5 ohm etc. ) and voicing these to suit your own enviornment.
